Creating the Space for Conversations With Young People About Compassion for Others...

In a world that can feel harsh at times, how do we cultivate the space for compassion not only in our lives but our children's lives? 

In this article that I wrote for the Institute for Humane Education, I talk about the strategies that I use to create a space for conversation with my son.

Through play, observation, field trips, and more, the opportunities are endless for opening the door to critical thinking. 

I believe that in order to create a more just and humane world we
